Professor Goldstein was born in 1945 in Providence, Rhode Island. He received a B.A. degree from Brandeis University in 1967 and a J.D. from Columbia University in 1972. Professor Goldstein served on the faculty of Florida State University College of Law from 1974 until his death in 1994. The Supreme Court of Florida awarded him the Tobias Simon Pro Bono Service Award in 1991.
